Gotta love it... LOL

The maturity level here sometimes astounds me. You know what, though? That's ok... because I'm not nearly as sensitive as some here at JU can be. I just have to sit back and laugh.

Comments can be deleted. People can silence your voice. You can only hope that perhaps a grain of the truth you were trying to share gets through. Intentions make no difference. It doesn't matter that you are being truthful, that you're sharing your heart, or your opinions, or that you may actually be concerned about someone.

I can see blacklisting someone for using profanity on your blog. I can see blacklisting someone for hurling baseless insults that are nothing but inflammatory. What I don't get is bloggers who silence anyone who says something they don't like. Yep... that's mature.

I guess, if the truth hurts or comes a bit too close to home... for some blacklist is the only option. It's sad, really. I wish someone would post a sign... "Wrong door. The teen room is two doors down on the left..."

I hope eliminating my option to comment on your blog has made you feel better. I hope something does.

Ahh, well, that explains your attraction to Marcie, Zig. You enjoy the company and conversation of whackos!

I think you're crazy.

Ummm...ditto.

The person you used to be was bright and special, full of promise, the person you've become is a dime-a-dozen, just another internet kook waiting for the men in the white coats.

No...I was a bitch then, too.

That's what I did on my blog, had asked a male to not swear, and he did it again and said "is that what you mean?" and another
obnoxious male made a vulgar suggestive remark and he's on the blacklist. And one other male that posted a filthy joke/comment
is now on the list, along with a friend of his that has persisted in swearing and knocking people I like.

I don't blacklist just because I don't like their opinions, there's a difference between stating one's opinion
and making nasty remarks about someone.

There's also a difference between people who want to discuss, even argue, and those who just want to state a poorly thought-out opinion and act outraged when someone challenges it. After a while you realize how badly it effects the course of a discussion, and how beneficial it is just to remove such people from them.

I have no problem with people who tell me I'm wrong and back it up with facts and opinion, but it is intolerable when those same people act as though you've harmed them when you use the same tone, and even sometimes a MORE polite tone to reply.

Me, I say let the stricken deer go weep.

Just shrug it off; it happens to everybody eventually. It's like getting your wisdom teeth! Well... sort of...

Meh....blacklisting tells alot about people.

Oh my....your arrogance is simply astounding. Just astounding.

I'm speechless. Really.

And you wonder why people dislike you.

I was goin gto ask who could possibly black list you, but I guess the comments brought that out.  Dont sweat it.  Blacklisting is a sign of strong opinions on your part that someone else does not, can not, or will not tolerate.  Or as someone else said, for the trolls that like to throw stink bombs on your blog with no meaningful additions to make.

I have been blacklisted 4 times.  Once I think it was a mistake, the other 3 were because the people could not have a rational debate and had to blacklist me for fear that I might taint their utopian ideals.

You are always welcome on my blog.  I have never seen a bad comment by you, even though I dont agree with all of them.

I feel exactly what your saying. You give a person a little bit of power and it goes to their head. As long as your not being rude or unecessarily cruel then you should be able to debate, with facts and what you consider to be the truth, to the death. people are afraid of their views being challenged or uprooted. To many arguments are fueled by pride and ego and not facts and research. where are the moral warriors who are in true search of truth and not arguments?

Way to go and be a putz. I didnt mean all people are pricks and bastards for using it...I just think its used too easily, too often.

Blacklisting is good...in SOME cases, to stop a constant barrage of insults or whatever. BUT in many cases...its simply used to stop someone from defending themselves. Sabrina herself used it on me...she read a thread of mine where we got into a heated argument. She realized it wasnt going anywhere so she decided so start her own thread on the same subject...use all of my own words and attack me on that; and then blacklisted me from commenting on it. Thats my main beef with it. Using it so you can have a hay day and giggle with your groupies as you openly attack someone while not giving them a chance to reply is silly.

Many times on a thread...there can be a heated argument and then someone is miraculousy blacklisted. What happens afterwards later on that reply string is a barrage of attacks against that person for their comments and views.

I have disagreements with people all the time, on here and in real life...I just ignore them if they start acting up. For example...when I see Little Whip and in one of her comments she says my name...I usually just ignore it because it has no value or worth to me, because knowing her, its condescending in some aspect...nothing constructive whatsoever.

Me I've yet to be blacklisted

I could fix that Forever (just kidding!)

If you're talking to me, I didn't blacklist you, I disabled comments on the whole article. It was turning into a "let's psychoanalyze Marcie" fest when the whole point was just that I think that the general mood at JU lately has been crappy.

Yes, you're right, Marcie. You've been so nice and kind to us and the rest of us have just picked on you. Poor, poor Marcie, the perpetual victim.

I understand there's a good career to be made out of perpetual victimhood. Perhaps you should start a franchise.
