After hearing you talk about missing the changing of seasons, I wanted to share New England Autumn with you, so hubby and I took a drive Monday and I captured these with you in mind. Enjoy!

Happy Harvest!

September was kind of warm, so the change is a bit late here. Most of the trees are just starting to turn now.

usually, the Trees would peak here in about 2 weeks.  But due to the drought and the warm temperatures, it will probably be a bust down here this year.  not a lot of color, and much later.

My kids went to summer camp in the Adirondacks. Beautiful area! They were in Schroon Lake. Is that anywhere near where you were?

It seems that Fall is coming late everywhere, eh?

You're more than welcome. It was actually a nice excuse to just take off for the day. VERY relaxing.

... I didn't. Hubby came up with it from some generator. Initially he told me to use malahini, but when I looked I thought it was something about being a guest or visitor? Oh well... . I changed it Can't have not nice words here. I thought it just referred to a caucasian... no?

Hubby lived in Hawaii for a few years. He loved it.

Word of Life or just near Schroon? The lake is beautiful. In the winter you can drive your truck on it and fish.

Schroon Lake - one block long business disrict. I am not kidding.

Glad to hear it.

Yeah, "malahini" is visitor/newcomer. It's not an exact match, but around here haole is basically a racial slur.

Hehe. I'll have to link you to one of my articles that deals with the whole "haole" thing.

Cool. Where 'bouts did he live?

Word of Life... one at the Ranch, the other at the Rock. You know of them, obviously. Is that all that's in Schroon Lake?

Yep. There's a little family owned diner there. The first year, we loved it. The second year, we watched a waitress attack a co-worker. Basically chewed her up and spit her out. We didn't go back. Hated the tension... my life has enough as it is.

Oooooooooooooooook, then. Malahini it is!

Oahu... and Barber's Point? Way before my time. Wish I'd been. I wouldn't want to live there, I don't think (I love my seasons too much), but I'd visit.
