Random thoughts... snippets of life in rural New England
(as if they care what I think)

Note to the NFL: Ever heard of a mill STONE around the neck?

There HAD to have been a better choice for teaming up than the Stones. Of course... if you're after publicity, now you've got it. Controversy's good for that.

What are the chances you'll hear "Sweet Neo-Con" in the opening kick-off celebration on Sept. 8th? Not bloody likely, I'd say.

"You call yourself a Christian, I call you a hypocrite / You call yourself a patriot, well I think you're full of s---,"

Hmmmmmmm... did the NFL... an AMERICAN league... have such a hard time finding entertainment that it had to go with THIS garbage? I say give Toby Keith a call... he played football, didn't he? More importantly, he's proud to be an American.

Keith Richards is a bit worried about negative backlash from the track, while Jagger says, "I think he's a bit worried because he lives in the US. But I don't." Jagger said at one point, "It is direct," and then... when faced with some heat... backtracks and claims it is NOT directed at President Bush: "It’s not really aimed at anyone," Jagger told the TV show Extra. "It’s not aimed personally at President Bush." Hmmmmmmmm... shades of Kerry here. Can you say "flip flop"?

I agree with Dharma. Entertainers should stick to entertaining and stay out of the political arena. That said, it must not be forgotten that thanks to our men and women of the armed forces, they do have the freedom to spout whatever nonsense they wish. Ironic, isn't it?

"I may not agree with what you say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it." ~Voltaire

For our military:

Thank you for contributing to the protection of my freedoms and rights as an American... we are so blessed as a nation to have men and women like you defending the values and ideals of our country. Your work and loyalty to our country and its people leaves me speechless... you are doing so much more than "serving" your country. My thoughts and prayers are never far from you. Although the novelty of the war on terror may have worn off, your sacrifice on my behalf does not go forgotten for even a single day, and my gratitude knows no bounds. From the bottom of my heart... thank you.

I hate politics but I love our country and the men and women who serve so selflessly --- songs like the STONES only serve to dishonor our country and what it really stands for.

First of all, I guess Aly has changed loyalty's and is now a follower of the HC blog site, no longer replying to my own interesting, exciting, unbelievable blog entries. So captivating that they will keep you entertained for weeks at a time!...Second of all, as a reply to HC and her complete sentence, "I owe you email"- I think it's time for a refreshment in second grade english.
